Through My Classroom Window……..

On a day fine and sunny,
The bell rang, initiating
An unexpected rain and
The ever expected class;
While I was attempting
To put together my two-
Cleft halves, one so curious
To listen and learn and
The other so eager to make
The ringing melodies outside
A part of its own being,
My teacher spoke at length
About the cleaving of the text-
Into pieces and analyzing.
When there occurred a debate
Negating the presence of meaning
I was seeking a deeper one
In the nature’s sound and fury.
And when asked a question,
One half of mine uttered something
That the other couldn’t grasp.
Suddenly the bell rang again
And all my thoughts rained down,
Forming pools of varying shapes,
Of letters, words and phrases.

My... my... I'm amazed at your poem.

Did you intend to portray the thought processes and the nuances of a bored, jobless mind sitting idly in a classroom trying hard to make head or tail of what's being taught?

If yes, bingo! Lots of poetic justice here! :D

The concious and subconcious self worked together in creating a small but beautiful work..mind rules over the brain n its clearly shown how good even a rain can be instrumental in the birth of a poem....only place where i have a doubt is that...does the "ringing melodies" in tenth line contradict with "natures sound and fury" in the 18th line...or does the time interval from 10th-18th line gave the nature ample scope to unleash the Gods of thunder n lightning? or do u say that the sound of melody itself has a fury in it? :)

@nirenjan
i never thought f such a contradiction...."ringing melodies" referred to the rain n "natures sound and fury" to thunder n lightening....the features f a typical rainy day in the monsoons...howevr the nature seems to be a place full of contradictions...

happy to know that u were able to follow my lines...thanku so much..
