The Everlasting…!

The bells of bliss jingled,
The December night dwindled;
A smiling dew drop dangling,
From a leaf tip fresh and lovely
Shared silently the snowy season,
Its sweetness, through a sparkle;
It carried in its silvery soul
The memories of a night, silent
With its twinkling eyes and
Smiling face, and its cool breeze-
Pampered the droplet and dropped,
A blanket cozy and melodious on it.
The glittering eyes to it narrated,
The birth of the blessed child, whose
Eyes glowed as bright as a thousand-
Of them, to receive whom they gathered.
Slowly flowed to the nature’s bosom,
The golden streams of the day’s King;
And the cute little dew drop with its
Treasure chest, precious and eternal,
Of cherishable and memorable memories,
Disappeared into the thin air that-
Surrounded, to be born again and again
In the December nights to come!!!

THE SINKING STAR
The most beautiful flower
Fades and withers away;
The sparkling silvery drops
And the morn`s mistVanishes ,
when the Golden eye
Of the vast blue opens up;
The melodious musings of
The cuckoo,the pretty petals
Of the butterflies,everything
But the beauty of the setting sun,
Is squeezed and crushed by
The awesome hands of Time.
The splendour of the King`s chariot
With all its sundry hues.....
Of gold,silver and jade
His precious experiences, echoed
In the chirrupings of those
Retreating dancing birds,
Presents every eye and ear
A golden gift to be cherished
Forever and ever and ever.....!

The Seasons of Life

My wet feet proceeded
Leaving vague impressions
On the silky sand bank.
A sparkling eye reflected
The golden sun beams
Onto mine eyes;

Seeking for the source
They stumbled upon
A pebble smooth and soft,
A glassy stone blazing
Cherishing those moments
Joyful ere the quake;

Gleaming with mirth
In that pretty little box,
Of the charming sylvan girl
In a garb of memories;
The moments of fall
And the enchantment;

Rolling in the river,
In tune with its rhythm.
But the tide of bliss
Faded away like ripples
Created by its very fall;
And a new voyage began:

Of struggle and sorrow
Molding and mending
Stumbling and smoothening.
As it lies on the shore
Bathing in the sun proudly
Recollecting the unique moments,

I read from its gaze
The seasons of life!!

A Tear Falling….

A single drop small and spherical
Sparkling like a sea shore shingle
Appeared in that corner twinkling.

It rolled down on blinking
A whole world in it carrying
With bliss and joy brimming.

Onto the earth it is falling
And slowly on its way leading
To relief, the soul burning.

The Rainbow

The beauty and charm
Of the variegated bow
Made the gleaming veil
Of the smiling dreams
Fall over the eyes of
The pretty little girl.

The bow turned into
A cute smile and lighted
Her face in varying hues;
She flew through worlds
Unknown and known
With her anew wings.

“Oh! Little darling!”
She heard her mother
And the bow was gone.
No more colours and
No more glitters but
Back to the old self.

“Dreams mean work”
Chanted her mother.
Her eyes sparkled
And then on, saw the bow
Every moment in life,
Though the veil vanished!

Through My Classroom Window……..

On a day fine and sunny,
The bell rang, initiating
An unexpected rain and
The ever expected class;
While I was attempting
To put together my two-
Cleft halves, one so curious
To listen and learn and
The other so eager to make
The ringing melodies outside
A part of its own being,
My teacher spoke at length
About the cleaving of the text-
Into pieces and analyzing.
When there occurred a debate
Negating the presence of meaning
I was seeking a deeper one
In the nature’s sound and fury.
And when asked a question,
One half of mine uttered something
That the other couldn’t grasp.
Suddenly the bell rang again
And all my thoughts rained down,
Forming pools of varying shapes,
Of letters, words and phrases.

The Birthday Gift

On my day of birth
I got a wonderful book,
As my first b’day gift.
It was light and lovely
Decked with ribbon and roses.
On each day I turned,
One of the golden leaves
Of that beautiful book;
Each leaf presented me
With a tale fresh and new.
If one rang the bells of joy
The other brought tears;
If one had flowers
The other had thorns.
Today too, I read through one,
And that taught me how-
To encounter darkness with
A smile sweet and simple.
Though I know not when
The last leaf will turn,
It is my ardent wish to read
More and more, hundreds
And thousands more
From that Book, the life,
Which was my Lord’s
Greatest gift for me !!!

An Evening Flight

Once again there arrived
Those misty twilight hours,
To return, refresh and relax.
With my winged friends chirruping,
I too winged across, those
Transparent cloudy patches,
And the day’s eye, closing.
The cool breeze gave a stroke
And woke up the nestling night.
We flew and flew in unison;
Breathing in the beauty, of-
The moonlit and starry sky,
Of the wonderfully decked earth,
With a blinking eye on every leaf tip.
We flew and flew in tune with-
The music of the crickets; and
Saw far away a handful of fire
Taking off and soaring high.
We flew and flew in harmony;
Sharing the day’s stories,
Laughing at and teasing each other.
Finally when our eyes fell on,
The night’s blooming queens,
It was the end of that flight,
And the beginning of another,
Into a world of still unknown lands.

The Split

Why should we split?
In a blooming flower
With it’s aptly placed,
Lively and lovely petals
We see the beauty of unity.

Why should we split?
In a closed fist
With it’s tightly held,
Five various fingers
We see the strength of unity.

Why should we split?
In a sweeping brush
With its well arranged,
Actively working bristles
We see the outcome of unity.

Why should we split?
In a music agape
With its various instruments,
Playing in tune with one another
We hear the song of unity.

Why should we split?
In a little plant
With its slimy stem
And leaves and flowers
We see the life-giving unity.

Why should we split?
In all happy families
With a loving father and mother,
Naughty brothers and sisters
We see the joyful unity.

Why should we split?
If unity creates beauty
And strength and joy
And a lovely life….
Why should we split?

The Golden Blessings

Memories are golden,
Said my friend;
Forgetting is a blessing,
Refuted another.

If memories are golden,
Why do they bring tears?
If forgetting is a blessing,
Why does it bring punishments?

Memories are golden
For they render wings
To soar into the past,
Into those cherished moments.

Forgetting is a blessing
For it puts a veil
Over those dark moments,
That bruised the heart.

Memories are golden
And forgetting, a blessing
For without these two,
The life is but a wingless bird!!

The Morning’s Minion

The day’s Prince woke up;
Into the morning’s minion,
Into a dazzling dew drop
I turned, and fell asleep on
A puny leaf, fresh and green.
Pampered was I by its
Silky smoothness; but pushed
Me down the naughty breeze,
I rolled and rolled with
The whole universe within
And fell on a pretty little flower,
With its petals soft and red.
Burned within, amid this comfort
My love for my handsome Prince
Bright and blazing, who then,
Embraced me and I became
His fair cloudy companion;
Then fell on my ears a knock,
Bidding a very good morning!

The greatest canvas!

From dawn to dusk
From dusk to dawn,
The endless canvas presents
The myriad pictures,
The ever new forms;
The sparkling sugar bits
Of misty mornings,
The silvery scraps scattered,
From the fair cloudy patches;
The sunny blues and
The gloomy grays…
The variegated bow and monsoon’s
Sudden splashes of violent light;
The orange-red and golden
Embellishing the twilight hours,
Bidding a hearty farewell
To the gorgeous apple of day;
The silent night’s silver sickle
With its twinkling friends…
Wonderful is the greatest canvas,
By the greatest Artist!!!

CHINNU’S MISCHIEF!!!

Chinnu is a new comer in our family. When we saw her for the first time Chinnu was so upset…. She got frightened at the sight of any of us…. and always kept hiding under her sheet. In case someone removed the sheet, then she would hide her face with that pretty little tail. Though she ate little on those days, gradually she became more friendly. We bought her a new home and gave her a place in the balcony. As the days went on she became more smart and naughty. But one day, my little cousin opened Chinnu’s home…. Chinnu was so excited…she jumped out n began running around. We too set on our mission to catch her…but it wasn’t that easy…on one moment she would be at the fingertip but on the next under the sheet or paper or in some extreme corner where we wouldn’t reach.. ‘The chase’ continued for about half an hour and finally we managed to get hold of her using a basket. Oh! What a change has come over her within a few days…the old sweet n cute Chinnu has become so violent….her claws are sharper now(came to realize it when I got a scratch). However now we are on a new mission…the mission to tame Chinnu….so wish us gud luck!!! OOoopps…I forgot to mention something…Chinnu is neither a cat nor a bird…she is the great grandchild of the famous one who was stroked so warmly by none other than Lord Rama…and the mark (the two stripes) is there even on Chinnu…yes…Chinnu is our little squirrel!!

NEENA ASKS FOR THOSE EIGHT BROKEN PIECES..!!!

Rules for this tag
1. Each player starts with 8 random facts about themselves.
2. People who are tagged, write a blog post about their own 8 random things, and post these rules.
3. At the end of your post you need to tag 8 people and include their names.

The old magic mirror called -
Snow white, the most beautiful;
When I saw me in mine,
My mind said 'beautiful'.
But the wings of Time broke,
That mirror of mine, and
The many pieces lay scattered,
Each reflecting each part,
And calling me out as-
An angel and a devil,
A hypocrite and a saint;
And thus goes the list....!

Here goes an attempt to pick up 8 of those broken pieces.....

1.I am a lover of flowers... Whether it is jasmine or rose or lilly, those sweet smiling faces attract me a lot.

2.Laziness forms the predominant aspect of my nature...am so idle that I used to take up things only in the last minute..

3.Ice creams lure me too much despite soar throat. In fact I believe a scoop of ice cream is the best medicine for a soar throat!!

4.I like listening rather than talking...in most cases I forget the talking part..!

5.Relationships value so much to me whether family or friends...it is impossible to think of a Christmas day away from the family.

6.I don't like to miss even a single chance to walk in the mizzle (though it is sure that the fever will overpower my joys shortly)

7.I have the habit of scribbling the thoughts as they come to me...so a pen and a paper are two things I can't live without.

8.I like the various scenes of nature....especially the dawns decked with the dew filled cobwebs!

I tag misty miss

Farewell day musings!!!!
The curtain falls;
No more twinkling drops;
The umbrella being emptied,
Each goes his way-
Conserving in the memory lane,
All those precious moments
Rolled up into a more cool,
Twinkling pearly silver drop;
An everlasting memoir written,
In the deepest recess of the heart.

Toby & Timmy
Little Toby appeared extremely happy that day…..his long cherished dream of going to school like his sis Timmy was to be fulfilled shortly.. The initial part of the admission process was almost over. All through the day Toby had been boasting about his new school with great excitement….if someone happened to cross with him…that would be the end.. He or she would be given a shower of rather ‘big’ words from that sweet little mouth. But since a bit of anger made that face all the more cute everyone kept on irritating him…n he kept on telling “nan veroruucham skoolil povum”!!!

Timmy the Teacher
By noon Timmy returned from the school n without wasting time she took on the role of Toby’s teacher. She tried in earnest to teach her little bro the way to wish a teacher, the way to answer questions like ‘what’s ur name’, ur father’s name, place name etc… The initial excitement on Toby’s face was no more…n he looked rather bewildered n puzzled. The problem was, before getting the admission he had to encounter an “interview”!! The' sis-bro sessions' continued throughout the afternoon hours…n the atmosphere remained calm except for certain occasional shrieks n fights….

The Performance
After supper the whole family gathered together n quite obviously Toby was the centre of attraction.. Timmy the teacher began the questions….n Toby answered them one by one so quickly n so intelligently that the audience literally fell into tears coz of excess laughter. After answering each question that usual triumphant smile appeared on Toby’s face….from the audience’s response he presumed that the performance was really good. But Timmy’s face was getting darker n darker as she passed from question to question…n finally after Toby answered the last question the teacher-cum-sis furiously took him to the room And ….am sure anyone can guess what might have followed….dishum..##%#@>..dishum…@$#%..,dishum!!!

A glance into the question-answer session::

Timmy: How will u wish ur teacher???

MY LITTLE MONKEY!!!

Finally that long awaited day had come…..we all were at the peak of anxiety and tension. It was the Kid’s day in my little cousin’s school. This was going to be his first performance on the stage and his item was the ‘monkey dance’. At the very moment we reached the auditorium his teacher gave us the bad news that everyone except our little one had got ready for the programme. After a moment’s thought, as the last trial, I was entrusted with the task of dressing him up and preparing him for the event. Uttering the names of all the saints in my knowledge, I entered the green room…..Oh!!!! the room was not only green but blue n red n yellow n …… it was a moment of real bewilderment..
The room was swarming with monkeys, trees, peacocks, cheetahs, tigers, parrots, sunflowers n what not…It was like entering a jungle…
But my little cousin….how would I find him out from this jungle…everyone was of the same size n their faces were painted in myriad colours…the childhood game of ‘hide n seek’ came to mind in all its ambience…..suddenly my eyes got struck on that very much familiar, naughty smile behind the pillar at the far end of the room.. in fact he saw me at the very moment I entered the room and was hiding…though he tried to slip away I caught him; but that was not enough…the most important and the most difficult part of my job was still remaining.
As soon as I took out the attire of the monkey he was missing again…but this time I got him rather easily with the aid of some other naughty monkeys who surrounded me with their bags of complaints. Then, after a fight of about half an hour…..n after giving him an whole lot of offers including choc bars, chocolates, kinder joys, outing etc etc I got my ‘little monkey’ ready with his long tail and the brown garb. Then yet another problem popped out…..my little monkey said that he would dance only on the stage on which they rehearsed. However, this problem too was solved for me by the other monkeys… and after playing ‘hide n seek’ for quite a large number of times we reached the side stage.

It was the time for the ‘monkey dance’….my little monkey too had entered the stage…and I got a place among the audience. All the little monkeys including mine began dancing in spite of the large audience watching their performance. It was the musical presentation of the ‘cap seller’s story’. The first part went on smoothly……but then suddenly I felt that something was wrong with my little monkey……Oooops…he had taken off his monkey cap….. I ran to the side stage n started asking him to put it on, along with the teachers there…but all our efforts turned out to be futile.. he continued in his ‘half monkey state’. It was the last part of the story where the monkeys had to throw the caps back at the cap seller n run out of the stage. But do u know what my little monkey had done???? He remained on the stage for a minute or two even after the others left ….and then, took back the cap he had thrown n ran out!!!!!
How is my little monkey???Bindaas..rt??

What the mind feels when the brain thinks!!!

The letters, words and sentences that are going to escape from this fingertip will present a great fight – a fight between the intellectual and the emotional; the mind and the brain. Yes, here is an attempt to draw the outline of that fight with the greatest symbols that man has ever discovered-the letters. The world of letters, if it was not there, the situation would have been really miserable.

This may be the saturation point for it seems impossible to withstand….to keep the eyes, the ears and the mouth shut. But they must be shut….and that is the necessity as well as the dilemma of the hour. Though some attempts have been made….the mind is not cooperating…it is not supporting the plans and plots of the brain which are rational but irrational; reasonable but unreasonable…The mind is so sincere…..so sensitive while the brain knows how to balance. If so, then where is the problem, one may ask…. The problem appears when the emotions rise above the intellect…

Questions and muddles are not new to man…They are alive ever since the creation of mankind….But in this complex and highly advanced world the questions also have become more and more complex. The fight here is over such a question - which is more important….which is right…..which is to be followed…..the mind or the brain??? The feelings or the thoughts??? But are these questions rational or do they have some answer?? The answer to all these are to be searched out from the greatest and the only real answer in the world – the life and its experiences…!

A New Leaf….

Another leaf fresh and green is sprouting out…different eyes with different views look at it from different angles…some welcome this new life with music and party while some others don’t bother even to look at it; some encounter the new leaf with bags full of new resolutions…..But no party came my way….nor any resolution.......but there is a smile within…simple…unique and my own…

The Turning….

Aforementioned were the thoughts that nestled in the corners of a mind watching the new year...and now though that mind has traveled not much…it has reached a turning…such a turning, that is well equipped to snatch away that simple and unique thing it has….

A Smile….

A smile seems simple
A smile conquers hearts
A smile spreads light
A smile saves life
A smile defies sorrows

It is not easy for the mind to have on that robe of cheerfulness throughout the journey.......
